Mission
The mission of Cajun Clicker's Computer Club Linux Desktop Special Interest Group (SIG) is to help those seeking an alternative to the Microsoft family of desktop operating systems to migrate to Linux. The workshops are facilitated by desktop users, for desktop users. Whenever possible the  workshops are "hands on" and EVERYTHING is "Point 'N' Click". Contrary to popular belief, there are VERY few tasks in Linux, including the installation and configuration, that can not be done with a few mouse clicks and the number that can not be done "Point 'N' Click" are decreasing almost daily. The workshops are currently facilitated by Will Hill, Joe Zachary and Ed Richards with the hopes of recruiting other members to facilitarte various workshops, in particular those that have to do with using specific open source programs like Open Office, Blender, Audacity, Firefox, The Gimp, Nvu, etc. We focus specifically on USING Linux rather than administering and managing Linux. In fact, with the exception of Will HIll, the rest of us have VERY limited knowledge of the command line, and none of us are "Linux Professionals", but we all are former Windows users that now use Linux exclusively on our desktops.
